New Londis store brings fresh life to Rudloe

Rudloe residents are celebrating the long-awaited return of a local convenience store as Sugesh and Shara Jegasothy officially opened a new Londis branch on Wednesday 8th October.
Their newest Londis store marks a significant moment for Rudloe since a previous shop in the village closed its doors eight years ago.
Attendees at the opening ceremony enjoyed goodie bags provided by Londis as well as a selection of nibbles to celebrate.
The Jegasothys and the Rudloe community were joined by Sarah Gibson MP, whose constituency includes Rudloe, for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Sarah celebrated the investment in Rudloe and congratulated Sugesh and Shara for their success in front of a large crowd of Rudloe residents.
Residents were then invited to look around the store and make their first purchases.
Store owners Sugesh and Shara, said:
“We’re thrilled to open this Londis here in Rudloe and bring local shopping back to the community. Rudloe has been without a store for far too long. We wanted to create a place where people can pop in for their essentials, grab a coffee, or simply say hello. We’ve worked hard to offer great choice, convenience, and friendly service, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”
Sarah Gibson MP for Rudloe said:
“Rudloe is going from strength to strength. Coming straight off the re-opening of Rudloe Community Centre in September, it is wonderful to see this new Londis opening its doors.
“Local investment like this shows the pride people have in their community, and it is fantastic to see Rudloe thriving once again.
“My thanks, and I am sure the thanks of everyone in Rudloe go to Sugesh and Shara for opening this much needed store. I cannot wait to see what happens next.”
As well as a full range of groceries and everyday essentials, the new Londis is proud to offer Costa Coffee, hot food, Slush, parcel services, and in the coming weeks, the National Lottery.
