Update: Important Statement from Sarah Gibson MP

I hope this message finds you well.

As many of you will know, over the Christmas break, I experienced a serious health issue where I was taken to and, spent five days in Intensive Care, then remained in the Royal United Hospital for a further five days. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate my thanks to the staff at the RUH for the flawless and attentive care I received.

On advice from my doctors, I was advised to focus on my recovery. This meant, from January to February I was not able to take participate in public engagements, parliamentary debates or events at my usual pace.

From February, as I begun to get back on my feet, I started to do more of what I love. Meeting with constituents, running advice surgeries, engaging with local businesses and writing to ministers to campaign on the issues that matter most to you.

As February rolled into March, I was feeling more like my old self. I was able to do longer days, and so, I took the decision to return to Parliament on Monday 17th March, so that I can continue to be your voice on the national stage.

As your MP, you deserve honesty from me: I am still recovering. But each day gets a little easier and I am slowly, but surely, getting back to full health.

This has been a hard road, but it would have been much harder if it was not for the kindness, patience, and well wishes of so many of you, my office team, friends, family, and of course, my loving husband, David. Thank you, to each and every one of you.

As always, if you need any assistance from me, please do not hesitate to contact me: sarah.gibson.mp@parliament.uk
